Zoe Backstedt
U23 Cyclocross World Champion 2024, Multiple Junior World Champion, 2022 National Junior Time Trial and Road Race Champion
Zoe is a force to be reckoned with - having won multiple Junior World Champion titles, Zoe is real star of the future and is spreading her skills on the road and in cyclocross, riding for Canyon/SRAM zondacrypto.
In 2021 Zoe won the coveted rainbow bands at the Junior UCI World Championships Road Race. To add to this Zoe also won silver in the ITT. In 2022, Zoe went one better and dominated the junior category winning both the Road Race and ITT in impressive fashion. Alongside these results, Zoe was dazzling in cyclocross. With multiple World Cup victories in the bag, Zoe was the firm favourite on the start line at the World Championships in Fayetteville in January 2022, and rose to the occasion with a dominant victory claiming another World title.
January 2023 saw Zoe win her first Elite title at the British National Cyclocross Championships with an incredible performance on a technical course (with lots of mud!), and a few weeks later, Zoe won silver at the World Cyclocross Championships in the U23 category. Zoe rose to the top step in 2024, winning the U23 category in the same event alongside multiple elite World Cup podiums to be proud of that season.
Born into a family with cycling pedigree, her father, Magnus, won the Paris-Roubaix classic in 2004, in addition to stage wins in both the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia, whilst her mum, Megan, competed for Wales at the Commonwealth Games. Zoe’s sister, Elynor, rides in the Women’s WorldTour as well – so it’s no surprise she has taken to the pedals and will continue to take the family’s success to the next level.
